Superbikes...It all started with The GSX-R 750 Hyper Sports

Thanks to Suzuki, a new era & breed of bike: The Superbike, was created with the awesome screamer otherwise known as the "Slabside" or "Slabby": The GSX-R 750 Hyper Sports.

When they came out in 1985-ish they didn't really have any competition at all, purely due to their violently aggressive acceleration... At the time there were Yamaha FZRs but the Gixxers were more popular & were much louder too!!! It's no surprise then that in this video, a 1985 GSX-R 750 is actually keeping up with modern day 1000cc superbikes more than 25 years newer!!!



 And now for a bit of crazy fun! This is just for fun, so please don't copy this guy! He has 9 Lives!!!
I heard that this guy retired now, as I think he has settled down with a family, so can't ride like this anymore.... All hail the Hardcore: Ghostrider!:




 Now I don't know about you, but I'm addicted to the Sound!!! The GSX-R, especially the Hyabusa,
has the lion's roar of all bikes!!! It's just awesome & is like the Gixxers trademark..
Of course nowadays lots of sports bikes sound similar when they are opened-up properly on an open road,
but the Gixxer still has a distinctive insane roar that is almost unmistakable...

King of the Road!!! The GSX-R following it's early 1980's release, quickly became King of the Road,
and it's easy to see why!!! After the 750 came out, there was then the 1100 version in 1986, which was even louder! Here is a nice compilation of the best in action:



So following the slabbies we saw many different versions of the GSX-R up until 1990-91 when a new era started with Suzuki's release of the legendary Hyabusa range, with basically dominated as: King of The Road for about 10 Years!!! We will cover that in the next section. First here is good recap & overview of the history of the GSX-R bikes...You will be surprised just how well Suzuki managed and adapted weight & power to design these bikes, and is was very dynamic to see them enhancing RGV Gamma Race Track design into the RAD road bikes to produce another winning series:
